Backup
A comprehensive backup strategy includes regular backups of all data in the environment. Avamar provides multiple ways to back up different types of data on a Windows server at different granularity levels, either on-demand or on a scheduled basis. The following topics provide details on how Avamar backs up data on a Windows server.
NOTE The Avamar
AUI is only supported in stand-alone Windows, Linux, and Solaris x64 environments.
The following plug-ins provide the ability to include and exclude data from the backup dataset. You can include and exclude data when creating or editing a policy, or when creating or editing a dataset in the Settings pane. The Avamar Administration Guide provides more information.
