ObjectScale Bucket Logging - Managing Log File Objects

When Bucket Logging is enabled, additional objects are written to target buckets. The size of these additional objects depends on the volume of requests against source buckets. The objects are owned by the target bucket and are the responsibility of the target bucket owner. Lifecycle policies can be used to manage the log file objects being generated.

Table 1. Log file size estimate based on request volume for different time periodsThis table provides an estimate of log file size based on request volume over time. The average length of a logged request is assumed to be 350-370 characters.

NOTE:

The length of a log entry varies depending on the name of the bucket, the name of the object, and additional headers that may be present in the request.
