Viewing hardware inventory information for chassis

You can view information about the hardware inventory for the selected chassis.

  1. On the OMIVV home page, click Hosts & Chassis > Chassis > Chassis List.
    The Dell EMC Chassis page is displayed.
  2. Select a chassis, click the Service Tag link.
    The Overview page is displayed.
  3. On the Overview page, click Hardware.
    Table 1. Hardware inventory informationThe following table provides the hardware information that is displayed for each of the chassis component:

    Fans
    • On the Dell EMC Chassis page, click Chassis > Chassis List, click the Service Tag link.
    • On the Overview page, in the left pane, select Hardware.
    • In the right pane, expand Fans.

      OR

    • On the Overview page, click Fans.
    Information about fans:
    • Name
    • Present
    • Identifier (applicable only for MX chassis)
    • Power State
    • Reading (RPM)
    • Warning Threshold (not applicable for MX chassis)
    • Critical Threshold (not applicable for MX chassis)
      • Minimum
      • Maximum
    • Pulse Width Modulation (Only for MX chassis)
    NOTE In a PowerEdge MX chassis, the presence of a fan is indicated as 'Yes' even when a fan is removed from the chassis. However, the fan health is displayed as Critical on the Summary page with active error.
    Power Supplies
    • On the Dell EMC Chassis page, click Chassis > Chassis List, click the Service Tag link.
    • On the Overview page, in the left pane, select Hardware.
    • In the right pane, expand Power Supplies.

      OR

    • On the Overview page, click Power Supplies.
    Information about power supplies:
    • Name
    • Capacity
    • Present
    • Power state
    • Input Voltage (Only for PowerEdge MX chassis).
    Temperature Sensors
    • On the Dell EMC Chassis page, click Chassis > Chassis List, click the Service Tag link.
    • On the Overview page, in the left pane, select Hardware.
    • In the right pane, expand Temperature Sensors.

      OR

    • On the Overview page, click Temperature Sensors.
    Information about temperature sensors:
    • Location
    • Reading
    • Warning threshold
      • Maximum
      • Minimum
    • Critical threshold
      • Maximum
      • Minimum
    NOTE For a PowerEdge M1000e chassis, information about chassis temperature is displayed. For other chassis, information about the temperature sensors is displayed for chassis and associated modular servers.
    I/O Modules
    • On the Dell EMC Chassis page, click Chassis > Chassis List, click the Service Tag link.
    • On the Overview page, in the left pane, select Hardware.
    • In the right pane, expand I/O Modules.

      OR

    • On the Overview page, click I/O Modules.
    Information about I/O modules:
    • Slot/Location
    • Present
    • Name
    • Fabric
    • Service Tag
    • Power Status
    • Role
    • Firmware version
    • Hardware version
    • IP address
    • Subnet mask
    • Gateway
    • MAC address
    • DHCP enabled
    Fabric (Only for PowerEdge MX chassis)
    • On the Dell EMC Chassis page, click Chassis > Chassis List, click the Service Tag link.
    • On the Overview page, in the left pane, select Hardware.
    • In the right pane, expand Fabric.

      OR

    • On the Overview page, click Fabric.
    Information about fabric components:
    • Health
    • Fabric
    • Description
    • Switch Count
    • Compute Count
    • Uplink Count
    To view the switches that are associated with the fabric, select a fabric component and the following information is displayed in the lower grid:
    • Switch
    • Chassis
    • Slot
    • Chassis Role
    • Switch Model
    PCIe
    • On the Dell EMC Chassis page, click Chassis > Chassis List, click the Service Tag link.
    • On the Overview page, in the left pane, select Hardware.
    • In the right pane, expand PCIe.

      OR

    • On the Overview page, click PCIe.
    Information about PCIe:
    • PCIe slot
      • Slot
      • Name
      • Power status
      • Fabric
    • Server slot
      • Name
      • Number
    • Slot type
    • Server mapping
    • Assignment status
    • Allocated slot power
    • PCI ID
    • Vendor ID
    NOTE PCIe information is not applicable for M1000e chassis.
    iKVM—Only for PowerEdge M1000e
    • On the Dell EMC Chassis page, click Chassis > Chassis List, click the Service Tag link.
    • On the Overview page, in the left pane, select Hardware.In the right pane, expand iKVM.

      OR

    • On the Overview page, click iKVM.
    Information about iKVM:
    • iKVM Name
    • Present
    • Firmware version
    • Front Panel USB/Video enabled
    • Allow access to CMC CLI.
    NOTE The iKVM tab is displayed only if the chassis contains iKVM module.
