Features	Description
Inventory	The inventory feature provides the following: PowerEdge server details such as memory—quantity and type, NIC, PSU, processors, and Remote Access Controller (RAC) Warranty information at server, cluster, and data center level Chassis details such as Chassis Management Controller (CMC) or Management Module information, chassis power supply, KVM status, fan or thermal details, warranty information, switch, server, and storage details Support for an MX chassis relationship in the Multi-Chassis Management (MCM) configuration. Fabric information for an MX chassis MCM configuration QuickSync hardware information for an MX chassis
Monitor and send alerts	The monitoring and alerting includes the following functionalities: Detect key hardware faults and perform virtualization-aware actions. For example, migrate workloads or place host in a maintenance mode. Provide intelligence such as inventory, events, alarms to diagnose server and chassis problems. Support for VMware Proactive HA feature.
Firmware updates	The cluster-aware server firmware update includes the following: Update supported servers to the most recent version of BIOS and firmware. You can also use OMIVV with vSphere Lifecycle Manager to perform firmware update (applicable for vCenter 7.0 and later).
Drift detection for clusters	Firmware compliance for clusters Driver compliance for vSAN clusters Hardware compliance NOTE Hardware compliance is not supported for hosts that are managed using chassis credential profile.
Driver updates	Driver updates for vSAN clusters.
Deployment	Deployment includes the following: Create and deploy system profiles. Remotely deploy an operating system on the bare-metal servers using VMware vCenter without using PXE.
Service Information	Retrieve warranty information for the Dell EMC servers and its associated chassis from warranty database of Dell and enable for easy online warranty upgrading.
Security role and permissions	Security role and permissions include the following functions: Integrate with standard vCenter authentication, rules, and permissions. Support for iDRAC Lockdown Mode in iDRAC9-based servers. For the list of iDRAC9-based servers, see the compatibility matrix.
Support for OEM server	The following OMIVV features are supported: Inventory Monitor and send alerts Firmware update Deployment Service Information Security role and permissions
MX chassis firmware update	Provides an option to update management module firmware for MX chassis.

NOTE From OMIVV 5.0 onwards, only VMware vSphere Client (HTML-5) is supported and the vSphere Web Client (FLEX) is not supported.
