Removing the heat sink assembly

1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the:
   1. battery cover
   2. battery
   3. base cover
   4. hard drive
   5. keyboard
   6. palmrest
3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
   1. Disconnect the heat sink fan cables [1, 2] .
   2. Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat sink assembly to the computer.
      NOTE Loosen the screws based on the numbering on the heat sink.
   3. Lift up and remove the heat sink assembly from the computer [3].
   4. Peel off the tape on the heat pipe.
