Removing the
display panel
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside
your computer.
- Remove the:
- battery cover
- battery
- base cover
- hard drive
- keyboard
- palmrest
- display assembly
- display bezel
NOTE This is applicable only for non touch systems.
- To remove the display panel for non touch
systems:
- Remove the screws that secure the display
panel to the display assembly [1].
- Lift the display panel and turn the display
panel over to access the eDP cable [2].
- Peel the adhesive to access the eDP cable.
- Disconnect the eDP cable from the connector.
- Lift the display panel.
- To remove the display panel for touch systems:
- Using a plastic scribe lift the edges of
the display panel to disengage it from the display assembly.
- Lift the display panel and turn the display
panel over to access the eDP and display cables.
- Peel the adhesive to access the eDP cable
[1, 5].
- Disconnect the eDP and display cables from
the connector on the back of the display panel [2, 3, 4, 6].
