Removing the processor fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the side cover.
- Remove the processor fan and heat-sink assembly.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the processor fan and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the four screws that secure the processor fan to the heat-sink assembly.
- Lift the processor fan from the heat-sink.
- Remove the two screws that secure the metal plate to the processor fan.
- Lift the metal plate away from the processor fan.
