The following images indicate the location of the system board and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the (M2.5x6) and the (M2.5x4) screws that secure the hinge to the palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the hinge in an upward direction away from the palm-rest assembly.
- For 4G LTE enabled computers, peel the WWAN I/O board cable from the palm-rest assembly.
- Disconnect the speaker cable, power adapter port cable, hard-disk drive cable, and fan cable from the connector on the system board.
- Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable, keyboard cable, and USB cable from the connector on the system board.
- Peel the adhesive, open the latch, and disconnect the display cable and I/O cable from the connector on the system board.
- Remove the two (M2x5) screws that secure the Type-C bracket in place.
- Lift and remove the Type-C bracket from the system board.
- Remove the two (M2x2) screws that secure the system board in place.
- Lift and remove the system board from the palm-rest assembly.
