Removing the heatsink assembly
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the palmrest and keyboard assembly.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the heatsink assembly and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- For systems shipped with an SSD: Remove the single screw (M2x3) that secures the SSD thermal plate to the system board. Remove the thermal plate from the system board.
- Remove the four screws (M2x3) that secure the heatsink assembly to the system board.
- Lift and remove the heatsink assembly from the system board.
