Removing the front facing camera
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the palmrest and keyboard assembly.
- Remove the display assembly.
- Remove the display bezel.
- Remove the display panel.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the front-facing camera, and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Peel off the adhesive tape that secures the display connector to the front-facing camera module.
- Disconnect the display cable from the front-facing camera module.
- Use a plastic scribe to pry the front-facing camera module from the display cover.
- Lift and remove the front-facing camera module from the display cover.
