Removing the display assembly

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Remove the rear cover.

Steps

  1. Peel that tape that secures the display-cable latch to the system board.
  2. Open the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
  3. Disconnect the DDS (Dynamic Display Switch) cable from the system board.
  4. Turn the computer over and place the computer on a clean and flat surface.
  5. Remove the display cable from the routing guides on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  6. Remove the eight screws (M2.5x4) that secure the display-assembly hinges to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
