Procedure

  1. Peel off the Mylar securing the fingerprint-reader board cable latches to the power-button board and the finger-print reader board.
  2. Peel and lift the power-button board cable from the palm-rest assembly.
  3. Open the latch and disconnect the fingerprint-reader board cable from the fingerprint-reader board.
  4. Remove the two screws (M2x3) that secure the power-button board to the palm-rest assembly.
  5. Lift the power-button board, along with the cable, off the palm-rest assembly. Image: Removing the power-button board
