Installing the right fan

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

About this task

The following image indicates the location of the right fan and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure. The orientation is based on the position of the fan when you are working on your computer.

Steps

  1. Align and place the right fan on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  2. Replace the two (M2x6) screws to secure the right fan to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  3. Connect the left-fan cable to the system board.
  4. Route the wireless-card cable through the routing guides on the fan.
  5. Adhere the tapes that secures the wireless-card cable to the system board.
