PowerProtect Data Manager is a single node in a virtual appliance that uses the Linux SLES 12 firewall to protect and limit external access to the system.
PowerProtect Data Manager uses a direct socket connection to communicate and move data internally and across the network to the required service with minimal overhead.
To enable communication between the
PowerProtect Data Manager system and other applications,
PowerProtect Data Manager configures firewall rules for ports that are used for inbound and outbound communication.
