Removing the base cover
About this task
NOTE:Before removing the base cover, ensure that there is no micro-SD card that is installed in the micro-SD card slot on your computer.

Steps
- Remove the two screws (M2.5x5) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Loosen the four captive screws (M2.5x5) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Pry the base cover from the front-left or front-right corner of the base cover and continue to pry the front side of the base cover.
- Lift the front side of the base cover, slide and pull the base cover off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
- Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to ground the computer and drain the flea power.
