Removing the touchpad
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the speakers.

Steps
- Peel the tape from the touchpad bracket screw.
- Remove the four screws (M2x2) that secure the touchpad bracket to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the touchpad bracket off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the touchpad.
- Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard-controller board cable to access the touchpad screw.
- Remove the four screws (M2x2) that secure the touchpad to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Open the display and lift the touchpad off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
