Installing the touchpad
Prerequisites
About this task
The following image(s) indicate the location of the touchpad and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Align and place the touchpad into the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Turn the computer over and open the display to ensure that the touchpad is equally aligned on all sides.
NOTE:The image below shows the proper touchpad alignment for your computer.
- Close the display and turn the computer over.
- Lift the keyboard-controller board cable to access the touchpad screw.
- Replace the two screws (M2x2) that secure the touchpad to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Connect the touchpad cable to the system board and close the latch to secure the cable.
- Align and place the touchpad bracket into slots on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Replace the two screws (M2x2) that secure the touchpad bracket to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
