If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
NOTE When replacing/accessing other parts, the system board can be installed with the heat sink attached in order to simplify the procedure and preserve the thermal bond between the system board and heat-sink.
NOTE Your computer’s Service Tag is stored in the system board. You must enter the Service Tag in the BIOS setup program after you replace the system board.
NOTE Replacing the system board removes any changes that you have made to the BIOS using the BIOS setup program. You must make the appropriate changes again after you replace the system board.

Steps
NOTE Place the system board on a clean and flat surface.
Align the screw holes on the system-board assembly with the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Route the power-button board cable under the USB board.
Replace the
seven
screws (M2x4) that secure the system-board assembly to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Align the screw holes on the USB Type-C port bracket with the screw holes on the system board.
NOTE The USB Type-C port bracket must be removed from the previous system board and placed at the new system board. This step is applicable if a new system board is replacing the previous system board.
Replace the two screws (M2x4) that secure the USB Type-C bracket to the system board.
Connect the display cable to the system board and close the latch to secure the cable.
NOTE Move in clock-wise direction to connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the Alienhead LED cable to the system board.
Adhere the display cable to the system board.
Adhere the power-adapter port cable to the system board, and connect the power-adapter port cable to the system board.
Connect the flexible flat cable of the audio and ethernet daughterboard to the system board and close the latch to secure the cable.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
Connect the touchpad cable to the system board and close the latch to secure the cable.
Connect the keyboard-controller board-cable to the system board and close the latch to secure the cable.
Connect the power-button board cable to the USB board and close the latch to secure the cable.
Adhere the RGB-IR camera cable to the system board along the edge of right fan of the heatsink assembly.
NOTE This step is applicable for computers that are shipped with a hybrid RGB-IR camera module.
Connect the RGB-IR camera cable to the connector on the USB board and close the latch to secure the cable on the USB board.
NOTE This step is applicable for computers that are shipped with a hybrid RGB-IR camera module.
Replace the system board Mylar on the system board.
