Removing the battery cable

Prerequisites

CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Remove the battery.
NOTE:If the battery is disconnected from the system board for service, then there is a delay during boot as the computer undergoes RTC battery reset.

Steps

  1. Flip the battery and peel off the tape that adheres the battery cable to the battery.
  2. Remove the battery cable from the routing guides on the battery.
  3. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the battery.
  4. Remove the battery cable from the battery.
