Removing the battery

Prerequisites

CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.

About this task

NOTE:Latitude 5350 supports both 3-cell 42 Wh and 3-cell 54 Wh battery configurations.
The following images indicate the location of the 3-cell 54 Wh battery and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.

Steps

  1. Using the pull tab, disconnect the battery cable from the connector (BATT1) on the system board.
  2. Peel off the tape securing the battery.
  3. Loosen the five captive screws (M2x4.5, OD4.6, T0.8) that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.
  4. Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly.
