Installing the palm-rest assembly
Prerequisites
CAUTION:The information in this installation section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

Place the palm-rest assembly on a flat surface.
Next steps
NOTE:The system board can be removed and installed with the heat sink attached. The removal and installation procedure is simplified to preserve the thermal bond between the system board and heat sink.
- Install the SIM card slot filler (for computers without nano-SIM card option).
- Install the display assembly.
- Install the speakers.
- Install the smart card reader (optional).
- Install the power button or power button with fingerprint reader, whichever is applicable.
- Install the system board.
- Install the fan.
- Install the wireless card.
- Install the WWAN 4G card or WWAN 5G card, whichever is applicable.
- Install the M.2 2230 solid state drive.
- Install the battery.
- Install the base cover.
- Install the SIM card tray (for computers with nano-SIM card option).
