Removing the Palmrest Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. ExpressCard
    3. battery
    4. keyboard trim
    5. keyboard
    6. hard drive
    7. optical drive
    8. display-hinge cover
    9. base cover
    10. base corner caps
  3. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest assembly to the base of the computer. Figure displaying how to remove the screws that secure the palmrest assembly to the computer.
  4. Flip the computer and disconnect the following cables:
    1. media board
    2. Unified Security Hub (USH) board
    3. touchpad
    4. Wi-Fi board
    5. LED board
