Removing the Power Switch

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover
    2. front bezel
    3. optical drive
    4. drive cage
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect the power-switch cable from the system board.
    2. Unroute the cable from the system board.

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Press the clips on both side of the power switch [1].
    2. Release it from the chassis [2].
    3. Remove the power switch along with its cable from the computer
