To change boot order on the ESXi host when booting, follow these steps:
- Reboot node.
- Press F2 during the Power On Self-test (POST) to enter the System Setup
- Enter password: Emcbios
- Select System BIOS.
- On the System BIOS Settings menu, select Boot Settings.
- Check the Boot Mode (BIOS - UEFI)
- If the Host is in the UEFI Mode, press UEFI Boot Settings
- Press the UEFI Boot setting on the top
- The Change order window appears with the three options to boot
- In the Change Order window, use the (+) and buttons to set the ESXI OS as the top selection and click OK.
- Confirm that the first option is the ESXI OS
- Click finish and wait for the node to reboot.
This means that after the Node Boots, the BIOS, or UEFI it goes to for the OS and reboots in the correct order.
