Dell G5 5590, G7 7590, 7790 enables G-key feature with latest BIOS, Alienware Command Center and Alienware OC Controls

The latest BIOS, Alienware Command Center and Alienware Over Clocking (OC) Controls software for the G5 15 5590, G7 15 7590 and G7 17 7790 introduces the G-key feature which allows you to quickly customize the thermal and performance setting of your computer.

To enable this feature, download and install the latest BIOS, Alienware Command Center and Alienware Over Clocking (OC) Controls for your computer from the Dell Support website.

To download and install the latest BIOS, perform the following steps.

Note: Please bookmark this article as a restart of your computer is needed to complete each update.

1. Browse to the Dell Drivers & Downloads page for your computer.
   • G5 15 5590
   • G7 15 7590
   • G7 17 7790
2. Using the drop down menu under Category, select BIOS.
3. Touch or click Download to the right of the latest BIOS listed for your computer.
4. Open File Explorer and browse to the location where the downloaded file is saved
5. Double-click the BIOS setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
6. Your computer may restart several times to complete the BIOS update process.

To download and install the latest Alienware Command Center, perform the following steps.

1. Browse to the Dell Drivers & Downloads page for your computer.

   • G7 17 7790
2. Using the drop down menu under Operating system, select the Operating system installed on your computer, when different from the one listed.
3. Using the drop down menu under Category, select Application.
4. Touch or click Download to the right of the latest Alienware Command Center listed for your computer.
5. Open File Explorer and browse to the location where the downloaded file is saved
6. Double-click the Alienware Command Center file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
7. Your computer may restart to complete the update process.

To download and install the latest Alienware Over Clocking (OC) Controls, perform the following steps.

1. Browse to the Dell Drivers & Downloads page for your computer.

   • G7 17 7790
2. Using the drop down menu under Operating system, select the Operating system installed on your computer, when different from the one listed.
3. Using the drop down menu under Category, select Application.
4. Touch or click Download to the right of the latest Alienware OC Controls listed for your computer.
5. Open File Explorer and browse to the location where the downloaded file is saved
6. Double-click the Alienware OC Controls file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
7. Your computer may restart to complete the update process.
