The availability of Linux on Dell computers

A lot of people believe that Linux on Dell computers starts and stops with the N-Series computers, and that is not correct.

N-Series Computers:

These are Workstation, Desktop, and Laptops computers that Dell has made available for sale with no Operating System installed. (They ship with a FreeDOS install disc.)

Workstations:

Dell offers select Workstation computers with Red Hat Enterprise Workstation version 8.6 and Ubuntu 22.04 as an alternative to Windows.

Desktops and Laptops:

Dell offers Ubuntu 22.04 on select products, as an alternative to Windows or Chrome.

Dell Linux Support on its computers

If Dell sells a computer with a Linux Operating System installed, you can purchase a support warranty with your computer. You can expect Dell to cover the support of your computer to the level of your warranty.

Note: Dell has no interest in stopping you from installing Linux on any of its computers. However, if you purchase a computer and replace its operating system, then your warranty may require you to reinstall Windows if some thing goes wrong. Returning it to the purchased state before any software troubleshooting can be done on that particular computer.
