Résolution

On September 24, 2018, Apple released macOS Mojave (10.14). This operating system update includes a new security feature that is called Full Disk Access. Full Disk Access blocks third-party applications from accessing certain file paths and may prevent the VMware Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint sensor from fully protecting a device.

Full Disk Access can be granted Manually or through mobile device management (MDM) software. Click the appropriate process for more information.

  1. On the desktop menu bar, click the Apple icon and then select System Preferences.

System Preferences

  1. In the System Preferences menu, double-click Security & Privacy.

Security & Privacy

  1. On the Privacy tab, select Full Disk Access.

Full Disk Access

  1. If needed, click the padlock icon and provide credentials for a local administrator account (not an Apple ID) to allow changes.

Padlock icon

  1. Click the + (plus) button to the right of the highlighted Full Disk Access.

Plus button

  1. Under Application, select Confer and then click Open.

Open Confer

Note:
  • VMware Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint was previously known as Confer.
  • The Version may differ in your environment.
  1. Click Quit Now.

Quit Now

  1. Restart the computer.
Note: Dell and VMware do not endorse nor support any third-party MDM software. ProSupport may assist you with verifying required fields, but are unable to build, deploy, or troubleshoot payloads.

Granting an application Full Disk Access is accomplished on MDM software using a Privacy Preferences payload.
