Data Recovery Services

The Hard Drive Data Recovery service is available for non-RAID HDDs on select products that include - Dell OptiPlex, Precision, Latitude, and Vostro computers. These services must be purchased separately for each supported product.

Note: Dell Data Recovery Services service will no longer be available for purchase from November 25, 2022.

This article provides you with information about what is in service and how to receive support on Products that are covered with the data recovery services. Dell continues to support all Dell products that have an active Data recovery services warranty.

Data Recovery Service Includes:

• Attempt to recover data from failed hard drives within the warranty period.
• Use of class 100 clean room lab, if necessary, to rebuild the drive in order to recover data.
• Recovered data that is provided to the customer using an external USB Memory Stick, USB hard drive, or CD. Fulfillment is at the Partner's discretion depending on the quantity of recovered data. The approved media depends on the size of the recovered data and is determined by the Data Recovery Team unless the customer makes a special request. Once the data is recovered, the media remains with the customer at no additional charge.
• Services for the term of the contract as indicated on the invoice
• Access to the Dell Data Protection portal, a secure, password-protected online resource that is used to monitor the status of your data recovery.

Data Recovery Service Does Not Include:

• Guarantee that all the customer's data is recovered. This service provides a data recovery attempt using a clean room lab, if necessary, to attempt data recovery.
• Data destruction or data backup
• Other activities such as installation, uninstallation, relocation, preventative maintenance, training assistance, remote administration, or any activities or services that are not listed in the Service Description.
• Availability of direct third-party products or product versions that are not supported by the manufacturer, vendor, or partner.

Keep Your Hard Drive Warranty

Keep Your Hard Drive (KYHD) warranty add-on is available to Dell ProSupport customers at the point of sale to retain control over your sensitive data.

You can add this service to your warranty from the services section when configuring your order online.

• Risk Mitigation - Proper control or disposition of sensitive data can mitigate the risk of expensive civil liability by helping to prevent potential exposure of confidential customer data or intellectual property.
