How to Pair Dell Bluetooth Devices in Windows 11, and Windows 10

1. Pair to a Bluetooth Device (new and re-pair)

Notes:
  • For non-Dell branded devices, see your Bluetooth device owner's manual for additional instructions on how to put your device in discovery mode.
  • For Dell-branded external Bluetooth devices, select your device below to learn how to put the device in discovery mode and pair it to the computer.

  1. Ensure that the following conditions have been met:
    • Fresh batteries are installed in the Bluetooth keyboard.
    • The latest driver for the Bluetooth adapter in the computer is installed. For more information, see Dell Knowledge Base Article: How to Download and Install a Driver.
    • The Bluetooth keyboard that you are going to pair is within 30 feet (10 meters) of the computer.
  2. In the Search box, type Bluetooth.
  3. Touch or click Bluetooth and other devices settings (System settings).
  4. Ensure that Bluetooth is set to on (touch or click to turn off and on).
    Note: When there is no Bluetooth toggle, see the The Bluetooth Toggle Icon Does not Appear section.
  5. Touch or click Add Bluetooth or other device.
  6. Touch or click Bluetooth.
  7. Starting with the Bluetooth keyboard off, press the power switch that is located on the bottom of the keyboard.
  8. Find and press the Bluetooth button that is located on the bottom of the keyboard. The Bluetooth LED on the top of the keyboard blinks when it is in discovery mode and is off when the keyboard is not in discovery mode.
  9. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.
  10. You may be requested to input the passkey found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device. If so, input the passkey.

  11. The devices are paired together and completes.

  2. In the Search box, type Bluetooth.
  3. Touch or click Bluetooth and other devices settings (System settings).
  4. Ensure that Bluetooth is set to on (touch or click to turn off and on).
  5. Touch or click Add Bluetooth or other device.
  6. Touch or click Bluetooth.
  7. Starting with the Bluetooth mouse off, press or slide the power switch that is located on the bottom of the mouse to on.
  8. Find and press the Bluetooth button that is located on the bottom of the mouse for 2 seconds. The Bluetooth LED on the top of the mouse blinks when in discovery mode and is off when not in discovery mode.
  9. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.
    Note: You may be requested to input the passkey (password) found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device. If so, input the passkey.
  10. The devices are paired together and completes.

  2. In the Search box, type Bluetooth.
  3. Touch or click Bluetooth and other devices settings (System settings).
  4. Ensure that Bluetooth is set to on (touch or click to turn off and on).
  5. Touch or click Add Bluetooth or other device.
  6. Touch or click Bluetooth.
  7. Find the Power button located on the bottom of the mouse.
  8. Press the Power button for two seconds. The blue LED blinks to indicate that the device is discoverable for 180 seconds and is off when not in discovery mode.
  9. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.
  10. You may be requested to input the passkey found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device. If so, input the passkey.

  11. The devices are paired together and completes.

  2. In the Search box, type Bluetooth.
  3. Touch or click Bluetooth and other devices settings (System settings).
  4. Ensure that Bluetooth is set to on (touch or click to turn off and on).
  5. Touch or click Add Bluetooth or other device.
  6. Touch or click Bluetooth.
  7. Starting with the Bluetooth headset off, press and hold the play/pause center button on the right ear piece until the blue LED starts blinking. This usually takes about 8 seconds.
  8. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.
  9. You may be requested to input the passkey (password) found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device. If so, input the passkey.
  10. The devices are paired together and completes.

  7. Starting with the Bluetooth speaker off, press the power button that is located on the end of the speaker.
  8. Find and press the Bluetooth button that is located below the power button for two seconds. The Bluetooth LED blinks white to indicate that the device is in discovery mode.
  9. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.
    Note: You may be requested to input the passkey (password) found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device. If so, input the passkey.
  10. The devices are paired together and completes.

  8. Press and hold the power button on the mouse for two seconds. The power-status light blinks blue, indicating the mouse is in pairing mode.
  9. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.

  10. The devices are paired together and completes.

  2. In the Search box, type Bluetooth.
  3. Touch or click Bluetooth and other devices settings (System settings).
  4. Ensure that Bluetooth is set to on (touch or click to turn off and on).
  5. Touch or click Add Bluetooth or other device.
  6. Touch or click Bluetooth.
  7. Rotate the rear key plate clockwise to turn on the mouse.
  8. Press the Bluetooth pairing button (located on the bottom) for 3 seconds. The Bluetooth pairing LED (located on the top) blinks white within 2 minutes, indicating the Bluetooth pairing is initiated.
  9. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.
    Note: You may be requested to input the passkey (password) found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device. If so, input the passkey.
  10. The devices are paired together and completes.

  7. Press the Bluetooth pairing button located on the top. The Bluetooth pairing LED (located on the top) blinks white within 2 minutes, indicating the Bluetooth pairing is initiated.
  8. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight Dell Wireless 360 Speaker AE715, then touch or click Done.
    Note: You may be requested to input the passkey (password) found in the documentation of your Bluetooth device. If so, input the passkey.
  9. The devices are paired together and completes.

  7. Ensure that your device is in Discovery mode.

  8. On the Bluetooth & other devices window, touch or click to highlight the wanted device, then touch or click Done.

4. The Bluetooth Toggle Icon Does not Appear

  1. Press and hold the Windows (Windows Button) key, and then press the q key.
  2. In the Search box type device manager.
  3. Select Device Manager (Control panel) in the list of programs.
  4. Click Plus (+) next to Bluetooth.
    Note: When there is no listing for Bluetooth, go to Step 6.
  5. Look for any listing that has a down arrow next to it.
    Note: When such a listing is showing, right-click the listing and select Enable device, no other actions are needed. Close the Device Manager window.
  6. Browse to the "Dell Support" website.
  7. You are given three options to identify your computer.

    Either:

    • Touch or click the listing for your computer under THIS PC.
      Note: When there is no listing for your computer under THIS PC, you can touch or click Download & Install SupportAssist, which will automatically identify your computer for you. Follow the prompts to download and install SupportAssist.
    • Enter the Service Tag, Dell EMC Product ID, or Model, and then touch or click the Search button and select your computer from the list.
    • Touch or click Browse all products: You must select the type of device you have, the brand name, and then the product model.
  8. Touch or click the DIAGNOSTICS tab.
  9. Under Custom Component Test, touch or click Select individual components.
  10. In the list, touch or click to select Bluetooth Device under System Devices.
    Note: Other hardware tests are also available.
  11. Touch or click the Run Your Test. The test is run, and the results are shown.
