Configure Uplink Port Speed or Breakout
NOTE: Users should only perform this task if needed.
If the uplink ports must be reconfigured to a different speed or breakout setting from the default, you must complete this before creating the uplink.
To configure the Ethernet breakout on port groups using OME-M Console, perform the following steps:
Steps
1. Open the OME-M console.
2. From the navigation menu,
click Devices > I/O Modules.
3.
Select the switch that you want to manage. In this example, an MX9116n FSE in slot
IOM-A1 is selected.
4.
Choose Hardware > Port Information.
5. In the Port Information pane,
choose the wanted port group. In this example,
port-group1/1/13 is selected.
6.
Select Configure Breakout. In the Configure Breakout dialog box,
select the required
Breakout option. In the example, the Breakout Type for port-group1/1/13,
1x 40GE was used.
NOTE: Before choosing the breakout type, you must set the Breakout Type to HardwareDefault and then set the wanted configuration. If the wanted breakout type is selected before setting HardwareDefault, an error occurs.
7.
Click Finish.
8. Configure the remaining breakout types on additional uplink port groups as needed.
