PowerFlex 4.6 LACP LAG Configuration For vDS error VXFm00666 ASMRSG305
Summary: After upgrading PFxM 4.6.0.1 to PFxM 4.6.1.0, users may encounter issues with Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) configurations on vSphere Distributed Switches (VDS) if the Link Aggregation Groups (LAGs) are set to Passive mode. ...
Symptoms
Users may experience errors indicating that LACP-enabled LAGs are missing from the VDS. This issue typically arises after performing an upgrade from PFxM 4.6.0.1 to PFxM 4.6.1.0. Despite verifying that the LACP configuration on the affected VDS appears correct and that all nodes within the Resource Group are connected and configured properly, the error persists. Re-inventorying the vCenter and nodes, as well as removing and re-adding the Resource Group, does not resolve the issue.

Impact
This issue prevents the publishing of templates, thereby hindering the deployment of new services. As a result, operational activities that rely on deploying new services are disrupted, leading to potential delays and reduced efficiency.
Cause
|
The root cause of this issue is that the LAGs on the VDS are configured in Passive mode. PFxM 4.6.1.0 introduced a requirement for LAGs to be configured in Active mode, where LACP is enabled unconditionally, ensuring consistent link aggregation functionality. |
Resolution
|
To resolve this issue, reconfigure the LAGs on the VDS to operate in Active mode. This can be done by accessing the VDS settings in the vCenter, navigating to the LAG configuration section, and changing the LACP mode from Passive to Active. This adjustment ensures that LACP is enabled unconditionally, aligning with the updated software requirements and restoring proper link aggregation functionality. |
