當電腦從 Windows 7 SP1 或 Windows 8.1 升級到 Windows 10 時，舊版的 Windows 會保留在硬碟上大約 28 天。此功能可讓使用者還原回到舊版的 Windows，無論基於什麼原因。經過 10 天 (30 天採用年度更新版之前的 Windows 10 版本)，舊版的 Windows 會移除，以釋放硬碟的空間。
