Symptoms

Vedere la Figura 1, che mostra il throughput di lettura sequenziale con 10 SSD SATA. Ogni SSD ha raggiunto 530 MB/s,
per un totale di 5,3 GB/s

Vedere la Figura 2, che mostra il throughput di lettura sequenziale con 12 SSD SATA. 4 SSD hanno raggiunto 430 MB/s, gli altri 8 hanno raggiunto 220 MB/s,
per un totale di 3,5 GB/s

Cause

L'impostazione predefinita del BIOS non è ottimizzata per le prestazioni di I/O.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.3 offre miglioramenti delle prestazioni di storage non disponibili in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x.
PERC H345 e H745 sono dispositivi PCIe Gen3 x8. Il throughput massimo è 7 GB/s.

Resolution

Installare Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.3 o versione successiva per i test delle prestazioni di I/O.
Seguire queste istruzioni per ottimizzare la configurazione del BIOS:
  1. Avviare la configurazione del BIOS e premere Alt-F2 per caricare l'impostazione predefinita.
  2. Passare a "Processor Settings". Disabilitare "Virtualization Technology", impostare "MADT Core Enumeration" su "Round Robin" e "Numa Nodes Per Socket" su 4 (vedere la Figura 4).
  3. Andare a "System Profile settings". Impostare "System Profile" su Custom, "CPU Power Management" su "Maximum Performance", "C State" su "Disabled" e "Determinism Slider" su "Performance Determinism" (vedere la Figura 5).
