PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance - DM5500 vCenter certificate verification fails with error 400 when adding a vCenter

Symptoms

Impact on DM5500:
Cannot add or connect to external resource or asset with IP ranges 172.16.xxx.xxx to 172.19.xxx.xxx.

PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance is unable to verify the certificate when adding the vCenter.

In the PowerProtect Data Manager UI -> Infrastructure -> Asset Source -> Add -> vCenter Menu:  The following error message is shown when adding vCenter:

400 error "connection timed out"

In the logs, the following error is displayed.

vCenter certificate verification fails with error 400: connect timed out

Cause

IP tables rules on PPDMA drop the network package when using 172.16.xxx.xxx to 172.19.xxx.xxx segments.
