Symptoms

Kdriver vib-installation mislykkes med mange fejl, f.eks.:

Bemærk: Dette problem vil også medføre, at installationen af RecoverPoint for VM-klynger mislykkes på grund af fejl under implementering af ESXi-splitter.

Cause

ESXi-værten har en indstilling VMKernel.Boot.execInstalledOnly indstillet til sand.
Denne indstilling forhindrer kdriver-vib'en i at blive installeret korrekt ved hjælp af Live Installation.

RecoverPoint Splitter kan ikke fungere med VMKernel.Boot.execInstalledOnly indstillet til sand.

Resolution

Opløsning:
1. På ESXi-værten skal du ændre indstillingen VMKernel.Boot.execInstalledOnly til falsk.
  • Kør følgende ESXCLI-kommando.
esxcli system settings encryption set --require-exec-installed-only=F
  • Bekræft ændringen. 
esxcli system settings encryption get
Mode: TPM
Require Executables Only From Installed VIBs: false
Require Secure Boot: true

 
               Bekræft, at kun eksekverbare filer fra installerede VIB'er viser falsk.
  • For at gemme indstillingen skal du køre følgende kommando.
/sbin/auto-backup.sh
    TPM gennemtvinger ikke længere startindstillingen execInstalledOnly. 
 
2. Genstart ESXi-værten.
3. Kør vib-installationen igen.

Additional Information

Dette problem kan også påvirke fungerende RecoverPoint-systemer, når kunderne kører STIG-hærdningsproceduren.

Proceduren indstiller STIG-standardværdierne, som ændrer os parameteren "VMKernel.Boot.execInstalledOnly" = Sand.
Proceduren ændrer ESXi-konfigurationen, men anvendes under næste genstart/opgradering, og den kan forårsage VxRail-opgraderingsproblemer, da de opgraderede værter ikke kan køre RecoverPoint for VM'er beskyttede VM'er.


Selvom det er muligt at installere vib'en med indstillingen --no-live-install - - Splitteren ser ikke ud til at virke, selv efter genstart.
