Symptoms

It may be seen on Dell KM636 wireless keyboard that the Caps Lock and Num Lock lights will turn off after 8 seconds, even while keyboard is in use.

Cause

This is expected behavior for this keyboard and is working as designed. The wireless keyboard has a firmware design to turn these lights off to save power. This cannot be altered.

Resolution

It's working as designed and works with the power save functionality within the keyboard firmware.
