About this article

This article is updated with the latest patch and service release information for OneFS and the HealthCheck system. OneFS updates are created for supported versions of OneFS on a quarterly basis. HealthCheck patches are created for supported versions of OneFS with each new release.

To subscribe to receive email messages when new OneFS and HealthCheck information is added to the support site, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the PowerScale OneFS Support by Product site.
  2. Click the Notifications icon drop-down.
  3. Confirm that Product Updates are turned on.

Download a patch or service release and view the README file.

Note: See the article PowerScale Isilon: Failed to Install Patch, x bytes in /var Partition are Required for more information related to the OneFS patch.

Download the file.

  1. Using this article, or the OneFS Drivers & Downloads page, click the link associated with the patch or service release that you want to install, and download the .tgz or .isi file. (Support site login is required)
  2. Copy the file to the /ifs/data directory on the cluster.

Upgrading to OneFS 9.5.1.x and later

For OneFS 9.5.1.x and later, follow the Upgrade Planning and Process guide to upgrade.

Upgrading to OneFS 9.5.0.8 and earlier

For OneFS 9.5.0.8 and earlier, follow the patch process in the README.

View a README file (OneFS 9.4.x and later)

For detailed information, view the README file included with the patch or service release download.

  1. Log in to the cluster using the root account.
Note: If the item is being installed on a compliance mode cluster, log in using the compadmin account.
 
  1. To view the README, run the following command where <patch.isi> is the name of the downloaded file:
isi upgrade catalog readme --file=/ifs/data/<patch.isi>

View a README file (OneFS 9.3.x and earlier)

For detailed information and installation instructions, view the README file included with the patch download.

  1. Log in to the cluster using the root account.
Note: If the patch is being installed on a compliance mode cluster, log in using the compadmin account.
 
  1. To change to the /ifs/data/ directory, run the following command:
cd /ifs/data
  1. To extract the patch files, run the following command, where <patch.tgz> is the name of the patch file:
tar -zxvf <patch.tgz>
  1. To view the README, run the following command:
>cat /ifs/data/README

Supported OneFS Patches and Services Releases 

As part of the OneFS update strategy, patches and service releases are issued for some supported OneFS versions.

The supported OneFS versions receiving updates are:

  • PowerScale OneFS 9.10.0.x
  • PowerScale OneFS 9.9.0.x
  • PowerScale OneFS 9.8.0.x
  • PowerScale OneFS 9.7.1.x
  • PowerScale OneFS 9.5.1.x
  • PowerScale OneFS 9.4.0.x

Unsupported OneFS versions and patches

As part of the OneFS updating strategy, earlier versions of OneFS that have reached the End of Standard Support (EOSS) status, no longer receive patches. 
If you need access to patches for an earlier version of OneFS that is no longer supported, contact your support representative.
