Workarounds and Mitigations

The open source TCP/IP stack uIP v1.0 and earlier is no longer supported. Customers who are concerned with the potential exploitation of this vulnerability and are unable to isolate the device within their network should disconnect the RJ-45 remote management interface.

If the remote management interface is required, the following best practices should be followed:

  • Avoid exposing the remote management interface directly to the Internet and isolate the interface from business network.
  • Enable network security features such as deep-packet inspection and firewall anomaly detection when available to protect remote management interface from malicious traffic.
  • Power cycling the device should recover the device from any loss of functionality
