Instructions

These are some of the objects that need to be removed / cleared up before a new cluster creation or Initial Configuration Wizard (ICW) is attempted.
This is normally associated with a factory reset procedure (PowerStore: How to reinitialize a PowerStore system to factory state using the svc_factory_reset command)
ATTENTION: if the VMware license was acquired from Dell and not VMware, contact technical support before starting the procedure.

Unregister the VASA provider

Note: this step is recommended to be done prior to running svc_factory_reset for the PowerStore system.

Select the respective vCenter on the left panel then go to the Configure tab and select Storage Providers (Expand More in vSphere 6.7 or earlier). Here you will see the list of registered VASA providers.

Select the VASA provider of your PowerStoreX system and click Remove at the top of the table.

Confirm VASA provider unregistration:

Note: The remaining two steps should be done after running svc_factory_reset on the PowerStore system

Remove the Virtual Distributed Switch

On the Networking tab, select the DVS with the name corresponding to the PowerStore cluster and right-click. Select menu item Delete.

Confirm deletion.

Make sure that the task of DVS deletion completed successfully.

Remove the PowerStoreX Cluster

On the left panel select the PowerStoreX cluster and right-click. From the drop-down menu select Delete

Confirm deletion.

Check that the PowerStoreX Datacenter does not have subitems.
