1.Precautions

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is an enterprise Linux platform. It is an open-source operating system (OS). Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 version is based on Fedora 28 and Linux 4.18 Kernel. Previous large-scale updates RHEL 7.0 Posted in 2014, based on Fedora 19 and Linux 3.10 Kernel. See the Red Hat website to get the full list of updates.

  • This method of installation requires iDRAC insert boot disk, or virtual console mounts the operating system ISO file.

  • Before the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 installation, ensure that all data on the server is properly saved and that formatting the hard drive removes all installers and data.

  • After Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 installation, install the required driver manually. The network card and graphics card drivers are installed together when the system is installed.
     


2.Installation Environment

  • Machine: PowerEdge T130
  • System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 (UI environment)

3.Installation Steps

Install the system as following steps. 
  1. Start the server and press F11 to enter the BIOS Boot Manager.

  1. Select in the settings interface BIOS Boot Menu. Choose One-shot UEFI Boot Menu, or One-shot BIOS Boot Menu.

  1. Choose to boot from USB Disk Or Virtual CD (depending on the installation media).

  1. It automatically starts into the installation interface. Select the first item to start the installation.

  1. Press Enter, and the installer loads the preinstall order.

  1. The User Interface appears, select the Installation Language.

  1. In the Configuration Interface, different parameters must be configured.

  1. Select the Time & Date.

  1. Keep the default language.

  1. Keep the default keyboard settings.

  1. According to your specific needs, choose the corresponding installation environment and installation package.

  1. Configure disks.

  1. Click Begin Installation when the configuration is completed.

14. Set up the Root Password.

15. The server restarts and finishes the installation.
