Instructions
The Dell AIOps Collector can upgrade itself automatically provided the required port 9443 is open bidirectionally.
This is configured within the Dell AIOps Collector UI under Admin > Settings > System Policy Update configure tab. Select Automatic (recommended) under the Choose how updates are installed dropdown.
Under System Status, it shows the current version used.
If it is found that the collector is not upgrading, this can be completed manually.
- Change the Automatic setting to Manual. Select > Admin > Settings > System Policy Update window.
- Download the Dell AIOps Collector Update x.x.x from the support page (https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/cloud-iq/drivers). Use the Checksum Values to validate the download.
- Drag-and-drop the .tar.gz file into Admin > Settings > System Policy Update upload tab.
- Launch update.
- This loads the update and powers the Dell AIOps Collector.
- Progress is viewed within the vCenter Console window. However, it usually takes less than 5 minutes to complete the update.
- Once the update is completed, verify that the latest version is applied by viewing the System Status > Admin > Settings > System Policy Update window.
Additional Information
In Step 3, the upgrade file may be uploaded either as a compressed .tar.gz file as downloaded or as an uncompressed .tar file.
