You may find that the "Menu Bar" which provides menus such as "file, edit, view, tools, help" and other menus is not immediately noticeable. This is due to a technique which some Linux Operating Systems (OS) use to improve the efficient use of screen real-estate.
This technique combines the title bar at the top of the window with the name of the application or document.
In order to separate the two functions in the single component of the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Various menus such as file, edit, view, tools, help, and other relevant menus fade from view revealing the contents of the title bar. To reveal the menu, mouse over the title bar and the program’s menus become visible again.
