These guides will take you step by step through the safe removal of what are considered to be the Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) parts of a Precision 3541 system. (CRUs are the parts of the system that shouldn't need an engineer to remove or replace.) The guides will also include pictures to reference what's involved.
If these guides do not cover what you are looking to do, then you will want to reference your System Manual.
The article below provides information on safe practises to take into consideration before working with electrical equipment.

Using a plastic scribe or similar tool, pry up the base starting from the right hand side hinge and work your way clockwise around the base.
Lift the base cover away from the computer.
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Battery:
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the Access Panel
disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard and remove the securing screw from the right hand side of the battery.
Lift the battery up and out of the PC.
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the System fan:
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
Remove the six (6) screws from the heatsink along the top edge of the system and keep them seperate from the two (2) screws you need to remove from the fan in the top right hand side corner. (The 6 orange ringed screws are smaller than the 2 red ringed screws securing the fan.).
Disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard and lift the Fan/Heatsink unit out of the PC.
Remove the four (4) screws from the heatsink along the top edge of the system and keep them seperate from the two (2) screws you need to remove from the fan in the top right hand side corner. (The 4 orange ringed screws are smaller than the 2 red ringed screws securing the fan.).
Disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard and lift the Fan/Heatsink unit out of the PC.
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the (Optional) microSIM Card Tray:
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Straighten out a paperclip or use the SIM card removal tool to insert into the pinhole on the left hand side of the microSIM card tray [1 & 2]
The card tray should partially eject from the right hand side of the system [3]
Grip the tray and pull it the rest of the way out of the system
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the microSD Memory Card :
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Press and release the microSD card in the slot for it to partially pop out of the right hand side on your system [1]
Grip the card and pull it the rest of the way out of the slot [2]
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Memory :
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
The memory is located in the middle of the system, pull the metal securing clips on either side of the memory dimm apart to have the memory pop up at an angle from the motherboard.
Pull the memory dimm out of the connector and out of the PC.
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Solid State Drive (SSD) :
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
