Resolution

Before unregistering Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise or Dell Threat Defense, exclusions must be made to ensure full functionality between Dell’s Advanced Threat Prevention solutions and Windows Defender.

The following Memory Exclusions are recommended:

\program files\windows defender advanced threat protection\mssense.exe
\program files\windows defender\nissrv.exe
\program files\windows defender\msmpeng.exe

These exclusions are recommended for Execution Control:

C:\Program Files\Windows Defender
C:\Program Files\Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection
Note: Threat Defense cannot add exclusions to Memory Actions. These folders should be placed in the script control exclusions list as enabling Script Control in Threat Defense activates the memory filter driver, which can cause some conflicts like you would see with Memory Protection issues.
\program files\windows defender advanced threat protection
\program files\windows defender
\program files\windows defender

Warning: The next step is a Windows Registry edit:
Note: Windows Server 2016 does not offer a Security Center function. The above and below actions have no effect on Windows Server 2016. The following registry value can be set to disable Windows Defender after installing Dell Threat Defense or Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise on Windows Server 2016:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\
REG_DWORD = DisableAntiSpyware
Value = 1
