Note: This article is a guide to those parts of this particular laptop that Dell believes that anyone can remove and replace. Anything other parts, they would recommend a repair engineer fit. As this is a 2-in-1 laptop, there is not many parts that would be considered safe for you to remove. There are instructions in your manual on removing parts that are not covered here.

Required Tools

1 Small Phillip's head screwdriver 2 Plastic Scribe
3 Small Flat head screwdriver    
 
Note: Using a large Phillips or Flat Head screwdriver may result in damage to the head of the screws. This would make their removal impossible without specialty tools. Tools that are not available to our onsite engineers.

 

Note: uSIM cards should only be installed on laptops that shipped with a WWAN Module fitted.
  1. Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Micro-SD or Micro-SIM card:

    1. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    2. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets and turn the system off.

  2. Turn the system over onto its screen.

  3. Press the two auto release pegs [1] for the kickstand and then open the kickstand [2].

    Do NOT open the kickstand more than 135° to avoid damage to the hinges.

  1. Slide the card cover towards the right-hand side edge of the laptop [1] and lift the cover up [2] to remove the card underneath.

  1. Perform the same steps to install new cards.
