Symptoms

When Dell PowerStore encounters a problem, an error alert is generated to help identify the issue. This article explains the different possible causes and the relevant solutions for these error alerts. Alert ID XMS_BRICK_SLOT_STATE_ERROR
Alert Text The state of slot %(ssd_slot_array[].slot_num)s cannot be determined due to an error: %(ssd_slot_array[].slot_error_reason)s.
Error Code (0x00302006)
Resolution Solution
Verify if there are additional alerts related to the drive in the specified slot for the slot error. If there are no other active alerts for the associated drive and it is functioning properly, this alert may be disregarded. Should the alert continue for over an hour contact technical support.
 
Alert ID XMS_BRICK_SLOT_STATE_UNINITIALIZED_SSD
Alert Text Uninitialized disk detected in slot %(slot_num).
Error Code (0x00302004)
Resolution Newly added and replaced drives are in an uninitialized state as part of their initialization process.
Should the alert persist, contact technical support.
 

 

Alert ID XMS_DRIVE_SLOT_LIMIT_ERROR_YES
Alert Text The drive slot limit has been exceeded
Error Code (0x0030A902)
Resolution 1 Cause
The allotted drive limit has been exceeded.

Solution
The number of Expansion Enclosures has exceeded the supported limits. Limit is based on drive slots, not the number of drives installed.
Resolution 2 Cause
The allotted DAE limit has been exceeded.

Solution
Reconfigure the system to no more than 3 Expansion Enclosures.
