How to Manage Thin Client App Policies in Wyse Management Suite

Managing thin client app policies in Wyse Management Suite is how an administrator creates a policy to install or uninstall an application.

  • v4.4 and Later

An administrator may Add Policy, Edit Policy, or Delete Policy in Wyse Management Suite. Click the appropriate step for more information.

Add Policy

  1. Sign in to Wyse Management Suite.

  2. Click Apps & Data.

  3. Under App Policies, click Thin Client.

  4. Click Add Policy.

  5. Policies may be added for:
    • ThinOS
    • WinIoT
    • Linux
    • ThinLinux

For more information, click the appropriate operating system type.

  1. From the Add Standard App Policy menu:
    1. Populate a Policy Name.
    2. Select a Group.
    3. Select a Task.
    4. Select an OS Type.
    5. If OS Type is set to ThinOS:
      1. Select an Application.
      2. Optionally, select an OS Subtype Filter.
      3. Optionally, select a Platform Filter.
      4. Optionally, populate Installer Parameters.
      5. Select whether to Apply Policy Automatically.
      6. Click Save.

  1. From the Add Standard App Policy menu:
    1. Populate a Policy Name.
    2. Select a Group.
    3. Select a Task.
    4. Select an OS Type.
    5. If OS Type is set to WinIoT:
      1. Select an Application.
      2. Optionally, select an OS Subtype Filter.
      3. Optionally, select a Platform Filter.
      4. Optionally, populate Installer Parameters.
      5. Populate a Timeout.
      6. Optionally, select Allow delay of policy execution.
      7. Select whether to Apply Policy Automatically.
      8. Populate an Application Installation Timeout.
      9. Click Save.

    1. Populate a Policy Name.
    2. Select a Group.
    3. Select a Task.
    4. Select an OS Type.
    5. If OS Type is set to Linux:
      1. Select an Application.
      2. Optionally, select an OS Subtype Filter.
      3. Optionally, select a Platform Filter.
      4. Optionally, populate Installer Parameters.
      5. Populate a Timeout.
      6. Optionally, Allow delay of policy execution.
      7. Select whether to Apply Policy Automatically.
      8. Click Save.

    1. Populate a Policy Name.
    2. Select a Group.
    3. Select a Task.
    4. Select an OS Type.
    5. If OS Type is set to ThinLinux:
      1. Select an Application.
      2. Optionally, select an OS Subtype Filter.
      3. Optionally, select a Platform Filter.
      4. Optionally, populate Installer Parameters.
      5. Populate a Timeout.
      6. Optionally, Allow delay of policy execution.
      7. Select whether to Apply Policy Automatically.
      8. Click Save.

Edit Policy

  1. Sign in to Wyse Management Suite.

  2. Click Apps & Data.

  3. Under App Policies, click Thin Client.

  4. Select a policy checkbox.

  6. Change the appropriate settings and then click Save.

Delete Policy

  1. Sign in to Wyse Management Suite.

  2. Click Apps & Data.

  3. Under App Policies, click Thin Client.
