How to Schedule Jobs in Wyse Management Suite

Instructions

Scheduling jobs in Wyse Management Suite gives the ability to:

  • Deploy Horizon, Real Time Media Enhancement (RTME), and Flash Redirect (FR) packages.
  • Deploy Windows Update .msu packages.
  • Use .rsp scripts to silently install applications to WES devices.

An administrator may schedule either an Image Policy, an App Policy, or Device Commands. Click the appropriate job type for more information.

  1. Sign In to Wyse Management Suite.

    Note: For information about accessing the Wyse Management Suite Administration Console, reference How to Access the Wyse Management Suite Administration Console.
  2. Click Jobs.

  3. Click Schedule Image Policy.

    Note: This requires that an image be uploaded to the OS Image Repository, and an OS Image Policy be configured. For more information, reference How to Place Images in the OS Image Repository of Wyse Management Suite and How to Manage OS Image Policies in Wyse Management Suite.
  4. From the Image Update Job menu:
    1. Select a Policy.
    2. Populate a Description.
    3. Select when to Run.
    4. If Run is set to Immediately:
      1. Click Preview.
      2. Click Schedule.
    5. If Run is set to On selected time zone and date/time:
      1. Select a Time zone.
      2. Select an Effective date range.
      3. Select a time to Start between.
      4. Select a job On Day(s).
      5. Click Preview.
      6. Click Schedule.
    6. If Run is set to On selected date/time (of device time zone):
      1. Select an Effective date range.
      2. Select a time to Start between.
      3. Select a job On Day(s).
      4. Click Preview.
      5. Click Schedule.

  2. Click Jobs.

  3. Click Schedule App Policy.

  4. From the App Policy Job menu:
    1. Select a Policy.
    2. Populate a Description.
    3. Select when to Run.
    4. If Run is set to Immediately:
      1. Click Preview.
      2. Click Schedule.
    5. If Run is set to On selected time zone and date/time:
      1. Select a Time zone.
      2. Select an Effective date range.
      3. Select a time to Start between.
      4. Select a job On Day(s).
      5. Click Preview.
      6. Click Schedule.
    6. If Run is set to On selected date/time (of device time zone):
      1. Select an Effective date range.
      2. Select a time to Start between.
      3. Select a job On Day(s).
      4. Click Preview.
      5. Click Schedule.

  2. Click Jobs.

  3. Click Schedule Device Commands.

  4. From the Device Command Job menu:
    1. Select a Command.
    2. Select an OS Type.
    3. Populate Name.
    4. Select a Group.
    5. Optionally, check Include All Subgroups.
    6. Populate Description.
    7. Select when to Run.
    8. If Run is set to Immediately:
      1. Click Preview.
      2. Click Schedule.
    9. If Run is set to On selected time zone and date/time:
      1. Select a Time zone.
      2. Select an Effective date range.
      3. Select a time to Start between.
      4. Select a job On Day(s).
      5. Click Preview.
      6. Click Schedule.
    10. If Run is set to On selected date/time (of device time zone):
      1. Select an Effective date range.
      2. Select a time to Start between.
      3. Select a job On Day(s).
      4. Click Preview.
      5. Click Schedule.
