Gli utenti di PowerDVD non possono riprodurre video Ultra HD Blu-Ray (UHD-BD) sui sistemi che utilizzano Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX). Questo problema si è verificato su tutte le versioni di PowerDVD il 17 agosto 2019.
Intel sconsiglia di utilizzare SGX sulle piattaforme Intel Comet Lake e Rocket Lake, in quanto Intel non supporta più tale prodotto.
CyberLink ha comunicato che Intel ha rimosso il supporto SGX e che il formato UHD-BD non è più supportabile.
Le versioni 18 e 19 di PowerDVD sono i prodotti correnti e non verranno aggiornati per la rimozione della funzione UHD-BD. La riproduzione UHD-BD è una funzione dipendente dall'hardware. Poiché dipende dal fatto che SGX sia presente, se l'hardware o SGX non è supportato, la funzione non è utilizzabile.

Si tratta di un problema noto che Intel e CyberLink riconoscono avere come impatto su PowerDVD per il formato UHD-BD. Questo problema si verifica su tutti i computer che utilizzano PowerDVD e hanno il profilo hardware interessato.
Se si dispone di un sistema che utilizza la piattaforma Comet o Rocket Lake o utilizza l'hardware Intel SGX, PowerDVD non eseguirà alcun video UHD-BD. Si tratta del funzionamento software previsto.
