Instructions
If you have a planned downtime, or testing on your VxRail appliance, and would like to prevent dial home events and service requests from being generated for these events, you can do the following to suppress the cluster monitoring prior to these events.
Instructions for VxRail 4.5.x and earlier: Web UI

Log in to the VxRail Manager's web UI:

Click "Config" on the left side of the UI:

Click "General" at the top of the UI:

Under "Suppress Cluster Monitor," select "on," and click the "Apply" button:

When you are finished with the maintenance or testing, go back to the Suppress Cluster Monitor, select "off," and click "apply."
Instructions for VxRail 4.7.x and later: vCenter plugin

In vCenter, move to and highlight the VxRail cluster you want to suppress.

From the tabs to the right, select the "Configure" tab. (See screenshot below)

From the center window pane view, scroll down to locate and expand the "VxRail" section.

Scroll down further, in the center window pane view, to highlight the "Health Monitoring" option.

In the right main window view, click the "Health Monitoring Status" option to change "Enable" to "Disable" and suppress cluster monitoring.

By doing this, you help prevent dial home events and service requests from begin generated for planned outages and testing.
